Application

Apply in the morning and/or evening to the face, neck and décolleté. Use directly after cleansing with DOCTOR BABOR Barrier Balance Lotion Cleanser, preferably after DOCTOR BABOR ECM Repair Serum. Massage in gently with dry or slightly moistened fingertips.

They played a very important role in various natural healing practices worldwide, even before Dr. Michael Babor founded the brand in 1955. BABOR’s DNA holds a deeply rooted belief that biogenic substances, or substances stemming from nature, can achieve groundbreaking results with the greatest respect for the skin. Based on this belief, eight potent plants from different plant species and some of the world’s most remote regions were combined. Because these plants grow in various environmental and climatic conditions, they contain a very diverse composition of active ingredients, such as polyphenols, terpenes and flavonoids. This 15% combination of different highly effective, skin-stimulating plant ingredients gives BIOGEN PLANT EXTRACT a unique and transformative effect.
ROSEMARY is native to the Mediterranean, grows in Southern Europe and is farmed around the globe. Because of its stimulating and antiseptic properties, Central European and Mediterranean cultures use it as a medicinal plant.

GINSENG is the most famous of the Chinese medicinal herbs. It originates from North China, eastern Russia and North Korea, and it is rarely seen in the wild today. It has been associated with an exceptional therapeutic effect for nearly 7,000 years. In skincare, ginseng helps the skin to regenerate and provides it with moisture. It also invigorates the skin and preserves its protective barrier.

BLADDERWRACK grows in the water among the rocks of North American coastlines and in the northern Mediterranean region of Europe, sometimes reaching as far as the Straits of Gibraltar. It is renowned for its soothing and skin-smoothing properties.
WATERCRESS is a resilient perennial plant with shoots up to 90 cm long that spread out in all directions. It is known for stimulating, cleansing and strengthening the skin.
FUMARIA frequently grows as a weed in fields, orchards and vineyards. It has been used for medicinal as well as cosmetic purposes since ancient times. Clinical studies show it has a positive effect on psoriasis.
Agrimonia eupatoria L., commonly known as AGRIMONY, belongs to the rose family. It grows in Europe, Asia, Africa and North America on hillsides, roadsides, rocky areas, dry grasslands and arid forests. Agrimony has long been appreciated as a medicinal plant and is famous for its antioxidative and antimicrobial properties.

Secondary active ingredients

The other hyperfermented plants (3%) are myrtle and mastic (also known as Atlas pistachio). Both are typical of Mediterranean vegetation and of parts of the Italian island of Sardinia, which is known for its remarkable biodiversity. Studies have shown that these hyperfermented plants boost the skin’s defenses, positively regulate the skin’s microbiome, promote skin moisture and improve the hydrolipidic layer. They also promote skin-firming processes that improve the bond between the epidermis and the dermis. At the same time, they positively influence the synthesis of collagen Type 1 and Type 3, which play a vital role in regenerating particularly stressed skin.
The hydrolyzed lupine protein is made up of 100% sweet white lupine peptides, sustainably farmed in France. It promotes the synthesis of different collagen types, including collagen Type 1 and Type 3, which play an integral part in rejuvenating particularly stressed skin. At the same time, it is a line of defense against the glycation and degradation of collagen. That is why it helps skin stay plump, firm and elastic.
Panthenol (4.5%) is a natural humectant that provides intense hydration. It collects the moisture stored in the skin and makes it possible for the skin to hydrate itself from within. In addition, panthenol strengthens the skin’s natural protective barrier, thereby helping to prevent moisture loss. As a protective agent, panthenol effectively reduces itching and skin irritation caused by external influences.
