The Exfoliating Antioxidant Gel combines the latest generation of active fruit acids. Due to their molecular structure and size, the individual fruit acids promote exfoliation of the skin and thus stimulate extensive skin smoothing within a very short time. The regenerative and protective active ingredients – astaxanthin, betaine, L-arginine and the antioxidant thiotaine – work together to protect the smoothed skin from free radicals. This ensures that the skin stays beautiful for a very long time.

Application

Apply 1–2 times a week with your fingers or a brush to cleansed skin on the face, neck and décolleté. Do not apply to the area around the eyes! Wash your hands immediately after use. Leave on for 10 minutes to take effect. Rinse off thoroughly with cool water. Follow with your regular skincare products, such as DOCTOR BABOR The Cure Cream or DOCTOR BABOR Lifting Collagen-Peptide Booster Cream, and use sunscreen during the day. Avoid contact with the eyes.

10% AHA (alpha hydroxy acids) packs a punch with the highly concentrated power of various acids and promotes a smoother, more balanced skin texture.
Glycolic acid is an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) with a potent exfoliating effect that removes dead skin cells from the top layer of the skin, promoting the skin’s natural regeneration processes for a smoother, more radiant complexion. It also supports cell renewal, which can improve skin tone and reduce the appearance of hyperpigmentation. At the same time, glycolic acid helps balance skin imperfections and refine enlarged pores for an overall more even complexion.
The blend of tartaric, malic and citric acid ensures gentle exfoliation. It removes dead skin cells from the skin’s surface and promotes skin regeneration for a smoother complexion. At the same time, the skin is moisturized to keep it supple. Citric acid is a gentle antioxidant that can help protect the skin from the damaging effects of free radicals by neutralizing them. The formula also contains enzymatically bio-liquefied grape skin and wheat bran, which allows the secondary plant substances to unfold their full effect. This way, they revitalize the skin and make it more resilient.
Like glycolic and citric acid, lactic acid is an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA), but with a gentler exfoliating effect. Due to its larger molecular size, lactic acid penetrates the skin more slowly and therefore provides milder exfoliation. Its moisturizing properties boost the suppleness of the skin. At the same time, it can stimulate collagen production, which helps reduce fine lines and wrinkles and makes the skin look firmer and more youthful.
It also contains salicylic acid, a beta hydroxy acid that acts as a chemical peeling agent, dissolving dead skin cells and excess sebum. Thanks to its lipophilic mode of action, it can unclog pores and thus reduce the appearance of blackheads and enlarged pores.
The effect is supported by astaxanthin, a substance belonging to the carotenoids. It is considered one of the most powerful antioxidants in the world. In addition to giving the gel its luminous color, it strengthens the skin’s natural resistance to oxidative stress. By neutralizing free radicals, it also reduces damage caused by excessive UV radiation. Besides that, it counteracts age spots and visibly improves the complexion. Astaxanthin also has a triple effect on the skin’s natural collagen: it protects existing collagen, inhibits its enzyme-triggered breakdown and stimulates the skin’s natural collagen synthesis. Together, these effects ensure a smoother complexion.
Betaine is an amino acid derivative obtained from sugar beets. It attracts moisture and can store it in the skin. At the same time, by maintaining an optimized moisture level, it helps keep the skin barrier intact and protects the skin from external irritants.
L-arginine is an amino acid that serves as a building block for proteins in the skin. It plays a key role in the regeneration and repair of skin tissue. The active ingredient helps promote regeneration and stimulate collagen production, which can enhance skin elasticity and firmness.
Thiotaine is an antioxidant that protects the skin from damage caused by free radicals.
